History is key to the community of Girouxville. Located in this community of 350 is one of the best historical collections north of Edmonton. Easilly located on the main street of the village this museum has over 7000 exhibits from all over the north of Alberta. The displays reveal glimpses into aboriginal life, missionary work, the pioneers and trappers, early farming practises, and the everyday life of families who opened up the north. This museum is a true treasure!

Located next to the museum is the grotto of out Lady of Lourdes. A religious sanctuary pilgrimage is held annually on August 15, a tradition for almost 50 years!

The honey bee provides Girouxville and area with their gift of honey. The beekeepers in and around the community show, tell and sell the result of the bees tireless labour.
